Q.  There is the difficulty of leveling when using MPS.

A.  Place a level on MPS and adjust the legs of MPS to level. The legs of MPS are threaded so that they can be turned to adjust the height.

Q. When an indenter does not reach the specimen even if the indenter's position is lowered as much as possible while using MPS, how can I do?

A. You can place blocks on the jig part of MPS to adjust the height. MPS stage blocks of 5, 20 and 30 mm in height are provided at time of purchase, and please contact Frontics when requesting additional purchases.

Q. If there is a space between the indenter and the displacement sensor and the specimen has a curvature, does not this space influence a test?

A. In the case of a curvature, the indenter and displacement sensor should be placed on the same line to conduct a test. Please refer to the figure below.

Q. What is the finishing for the surface-treated area after testing?

A. Remove surface moisture and make anti-corrosion treatment for preventing surface from corroding. If it was coated by a certain standard of the test target, make a finish after doing the same treatment.

Q. What if it is narrow the place where a displacement sensor will touch when testing a small specimen?

A. There are a method of using an auxiliary block at the place where a displacement sensor touches to conduct the test and one of mounting the specimen to carry out. Please keep in mind that we recommend to use high hardness resin because there can be a phenomenon where the mounting resin is pressed together with the specimen if conducting an indentation test on the mounted specimen.
