Q. Whether or not it can be measured residual stress of special alloy material components (corn type)

A. A dedicated attachment is used to measure as the figure below. The dedicated attachment can be fabricated by Frontics in accordance with the specimen geometry.

Q. Whether or not it can be measured residual stress of the part where plates and pipes are welded

A. A dedicated attachment can be used to measure. The dedicated attachment can be fabricated by Frontics to apply in accordance with the specimen geometry.

Q. The space between the indenter and the specimen's surface cannot be seen well when testing in fields, and is there any way to identify it?

A. There is a difficulty of determining the distance between the indenter and the specimen in a field test. We recommend to test after securing a sufficient space so that there is no collision between the indenter and the specimen. An alternative method is to use an auxiliary device such as a small camera or lighting device to secure.

Q. In the case of a specimen which is thin or has uneven bottom surface, how can I test?

A. Use an attachment for MPS that can fix the specimen. Please refer to the Manual Part 3 / Section 2.2 for the connection  method and the details.
